The Territory Government has secured two of Australia’s biggest musical acts to play in Alice Springs.
The Minister for Central Australia, Karl Hampton, said today Jimmy Barnes and The Cat Empire would team up for a fantastic night of entertainment in Alice on the first Saturday night in October. “The Territory Government is proud to bring this great concert to Alice Springs,” Mr Hampton said. “It doesn’t get much bigger than this – it will be a night to remember in Alice. “I’m expecting a big crowd and wonderful atmosphere under the stars at ANZAC Oval. “I can’t wait to see the Cat Empire and Jimmy Barnes, well, he’s one of Australia’s greatest ever performers.”
This great concert is replacing BASSINTHEDUST this year. The Cat Empire’s roots are in the late night jazz clubs of Melbourne. The Cat Empire is a kind of funky circus troupe, with an emphasis on festive energy. Jimmy Barnes is the quintessential rock star. He is one of Australia’s most well known and successful performers ever, with years of success and experience behind him.
